The recent announcement about the Animal Crossing event is likely to spark discussion within the game’s community once more. Since Nintendo has released Animal Crossing: New Horizons’ free 2.0 update and Happy Home Paradise DLC, the company has been silent about future titles. With an upcoming live concert featuring K.K. Slider, fans will likely take this as a positive sign that Nintendo may be releasing official news about the life sim series soon.

According to the official Japanese Twitter account of Animal Crossing, the live concert will be called “DJ K.K. Paradise Mix.” It will be part of the 2022 Nintendo Live event that will be hosted in Tokyo Big Sight, one of Japan’s major concert venues. The other special performance included in the concert involves the Splatoon 3 music group Deep Cut. Happening on October 8 and 9, 2022, the weekend event will have three one-hour performances across each day, and all performances will be the same to keep it fair for all audiences.
Unfortunately, those interested to attend will have to participate in a lottery system to get seats to the actual live event. Nintendo has yet to provide an official link or sign-up page for the lottery system as well. Given the presence of COVID-19, it is understandable for the event’s organizers to limit the number of physical attendees. Fortunately, the final performance happening on October 9 will be streamed online via YouTube Live. This allows fans of Animal Crossing and Splatoon from all over the world to view and experience the live concert featuring the game’s iconic characters.
The announcement of a real-life Animal Crossing event is likely very good news for the series’ community. Hopefully Nintendo does not disappoint and actually gives a surprise update during the weekend concert. However, even if the company does not provide updates to its fans, the community will probably be happy enough to see new and official Animal Crossing content from Nintendo.
