Percy Jackson and the Olympians is set to debut on Disney+ sometime in 2024 with The Adam Project’s Walker Scobell in the lead and title role. Joining him will be Leah Jeffries as Annabeth Chase, while Aryan Simhadri will be playing Grover Underwood. The series centers around Percy Jackson, a 12 year old who discovers he’s actually a demigod son of Poseidon. This gains him access to Camp Half-Blood, a place where demigods train and learn to master their abilities. When Zeus accuses Percy of having stolen his thunderbolts, however, Percy and his friends must clear his name and catch the true culprit.

According to Deadline, Miranda is set to play the “charismatic & boisterous” trickster god Hermes, who’s described as “life of the party”. His personality sadly does not endear him to his son, Luke (Charlie Bushnell), with whom he has a strained relationship. Hermes will play a role in Percy’s journey, though he’s reluctant to help the boy, thinking it would be more trouble than it’s worth. Apparently, Miranda is a big fan of the novels, and shares a love of them with his own son. The official Percy Jackson Twitter account also confirmed the news. While being a half-blood might not be easy in Percy Jackson and the Olympians, at least Miranda’s Hermes will be around to help Percy along on his journey. Miranda’s known for playing some amicable characters, and he’ll probably bring that energy to the role.

Disney’s Percy Jackson series has been feeding fans a steady diet of news. While it’s still a long way off from premiering, it seems like the studio has been revealing news about the series every month or so. Filming began on the series a while ago, but there’s probably still a ways to go before the first season is complete. The show will probably have a decent budget; it’s needed in order to bring the Olympians and their progeny to life.

The Percy Jackson tv show is also shaping up to be better than the movies. It is known that the series will stick more closely to the books, which the films were a departure from. The casting, moreover, also seems to be a bit more in line with the book series in the television show than in the film franchise.
