On Twitter, Limited Run Games said that it would not be hosting its annual E3 event on Monday, June 8 as it had announced. The company would announce a new date for the event next week. Limited Run Games didn’t confirm why it was delaying its event but Sony delayed its PS5 reveal event because of the global protests against racial injustice and police brutality, saying that it wanted to allow “more important” voices to be heard. It seems likely that Limited Run Games also feels that now is not the right time to be announcing new releases.

The announcement will be disappointing for fans who enjoy Limited Run Games special collector’s editions and the surprises that the company typically offers as part of its E3 event. At E3 2019, it confirmed that it would be making a Shenmue 3 Collector’s Edition and that it would be releasing physical versions of Star Wars and Monkey Island games.

It’s unclear what sort of announcements fans of Limited Run Games will be able to enjoy at this year’s event. 2020 has been a good year for the company, as it has released physical editions of games like Shantae and the Seven Sirens. However, the E3 event could reveal if the rest of the year will also be as big for it.
